Friday, April 4 - Saturday, April 5
Join St. Basil’s and St. Mike's Campus Ministry for a special time of prayer, service, and community in celebration of the Jubilee Year. Beginning on Friday evening with Vespers, and ending with Saturday evening Mass, we will devote ourselves at St. Basil’s and at home to encountering Christ’s merciful love. Featuring Eucharistic Adoration, Liturgy of the Hours, Scripture, Zoom prayer, Praise and Worship, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we will be keeping the church open overnight for prayer as a community.

Musician-in-Residence Concert
Friday, April 11, 7:30pm
Featuring soprano Lindsay McIntyre, countertenor Christian Masucci, with harpsichordist Adrian Ross and a string ensemble, this free voice concert will include Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s famous musical setting of the Stabat Mater - the hymn to Mary at the foot of the cross. Donations will be collected to support the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

Tenebrae
Tenebrae
All are invited to join us on Wednesday, April 16, at 8:00pm in the church for our annual Tenebræ service. Latin for shadows, Tenebræ was originally celebrated in the early morning hours of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. This contemplative evening service will feature a condensed version of the three day service, with prayers, readings, and choral music to usher in the beginning of the Triduum.

We invite you to participate in a 4-part series called Horizons of Hope, on Thursday evenings 7 - 9 p.m. from January 23 to February 13, 2025. Our faith has much to teach us about living well until the end of life. The program, developed by the Canadian Bishops Conference, will help parishioners, families and care givers learn more through videos and small-group discussion. Themes include: understanding the dying process, discernment and decision making at the end of life, accompaniment and the importance of building Compassionate Communities. It is our hope that the program will empower parishioners to accompany loved ones and community members who are suffering.

Book Club: The Brothers Karamazov

Advent Retreat: Entering the Sacred Story
Join the Mary Ward Center and St. Basil’s Parish for an Advent day of reflection on Saturday, December 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meditating on the Incarnation, we will reflect on God's love active in Jesus and in our own story. Our time together will include Mass, prayer, presentations, spacious silence, art, and small group conversation. Join us to prepare for the joy of Christmas, when we will celebrate the once and future Coming of Christ

Liturgical Ministry Training
Interested in serving our community at weekend Masses as a Lector, Communion Minister, Altar Server, or Minister of Hospitality? We would love to have you share your gifts to enrich our worship and draw our community closer to Christ.
All new volunteers are required to complete the Volunteer Application Form and attend our upcoming training and formation in order to serve in these roles. Ecumenical Taizé Prayer Service
Join Christian Communities at the University of Toronto on Friday, November 1, at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of prayer and song led by Brother Emile from the Taizé community during his visit to Canada. This ecumenical and meditative prayer form includes music, scripture, prayers, candlelight, and silence, and will invite us to reflect on our call to holiness in the Beatitudes.
