24 Hours for the Lord
Friday, April 4 - Saturday, April 5
Join St. Basil’s and St. Mike's Campus Ministry for a special time of prayer, service, and community in celebration of the Jubilee Year. Beginning on Friday evening with Vespers, and ending with Saturday evening Mass, we will devote ourselves at St. Basil’s and at home to encountering Christ’s merciful love. Featuring Eucharistic Adoration, Liturgy of the Hours, Scripture, Zoom prayer, Praise and Worship, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we will be keeping the church open overnight for prayer as a community.
The John Ford First Sunday Food Drive supports our Outreach Ministry through monetary contributions as well as donated items that can be used for our meal service or distributed directly to our patrons.
To make our food drive a success, we are requesting specific food items that are in high demand. These should be unopened items with a longer shelf life (far from expiration dates).
We are looking for: Canned meats and fish, Canned or dry lentils and beans, Rice, Pasta, Barley, Oats, Nut butters (peanut, almond, soy, etc), Canned or jarred stew, Canned or jarred pasta sauce, Canned vegetables and fruit.
Musician-in-Residence Concert
Friday, April 11, 7:30pm
Featuring soprano Lindsay McIntyre, countertenor Christian Masucci, with harpsichordist Adrian Ross and a string ensemble, this free voice concert will include Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s famous musical setting of the Stabat Mater - the hymn to Mary at the foot of the cross. Donations will be collected to support the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
Sacred Beginnings Collective:
Are you and your spouse expecting, expecting to be expecting, or knee-deep in diapers? We’re excited to invite married couples to join the Sacred Beginnings Collective at St. Basil’s! We're building a community of couples supporting one another as we seek to love God, our spouses, and our kids more deeply.
