Organ Concert: Across the Channel
Director of Music & Principal Organist John Paul Farahat presents a concert of organ music featuring composers with connections to France and England (with a brief pass through Germany).
In addition to works by Pierre Du Mage, Louis Vierne, and J. S. Bach, the concert will include the electrifying Toccata by Jean Guillou, as well as Herbert Howell’s Rhapsody no. 3 and Healey Willan’s monumental Introduction, Passacaglia, and Fugue. This recital is in partial fulfilment of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Toronto (Recital II of III).
Admission is free, donations are welcome towards the maintenance and restoration of the 1919 Casavant Frères organ of Saint Basil’s Catholic Parish.
