Saint Vincent dePaul
At the Weekend Masses on September 30 & October 1, there will be a special, second collection for the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. Envelopes will be available in the pews and at the back of the church, as well as in the regular weekly envelope packets.
“This fundraising helps provide food, clothing, beds and other key supplies to some 200 of the neediest households in our parish.”
We visit our neighbours in their homes to help those with mental and physical infirmities, abused women, single parents and children, students, new Canadians, and those who are just down on their luck. The Society is run by volunteers, and there is virtually no overhead cost. More than 98 cents of every dollar goes directly to the needy. Donations are tax deductible.
The parishioners of St. Basil’s have always supported these appeals, and our St. Vincent de Paul team is one of the most active in the city. We hope that you can find it in your hearts to respond generously.
Blessing of the Animals
In observance of St. Francis of Assisi’s feast day, there will be a special blessing for any pets on Saturday, September 30th, at 10:00AM. Be sure to join us with your furry friends outside the east doors of the church for the annual Blessing of the Animals.

R.C.I.A. at St. Basil’s
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (known as ‘R.C.I.A’) is a very special and intensive program designed for adults over the age of eighteen seeking reception into the Roman Catholic Church, or for baptized Catholics looking to learn more about Roman Catholic theology and practice. At St. Basil’s, our R.C.I.A. program runs for nearly 30 weeks and explores a variety of topics dealing with the sacramental life and real-world discipleship. Our program draws in an exciting line-up of speakers from the Toronto School of Theology, University of St. Michael’s College, and Basilian Fathers.
Whether you are seeking to receive the Sacraments of Initiation and convert to Roman Catholicism, or you are already a long-time fully-initiated Roman Catholic, come and discover the Catholic faith anew!
If you are interested in learning more about the R.C.I.A. program, please contact Jessica, the Coordinator of the program for more information. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
Are you able to make contributions to the bulletin? Please contact our Social & Community Coordinator, Michael for more information.
