What is the Pre-Authorized Giving Plan?

Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Toronto, Pre-Authorized Giving (P.A.G.) assists parishioners in the Archdiocese to make their regular offertory donations to their church by direct debit.

Why Should I Participate?

Advantages for you:

    • Convenience:  Your offering is deducted from your account once each month and automatically deposited in the Parish account.
    • You can plan your giving in advance for the whole year
    • You can continue to support St. Basil’s when you are away.

Advantages for St. Basil’s:

    • A regular, dependable flow of contributions to St. Basil’s, especially over the summer holiday months.
    • A reduction of paperwork and bookkeeping.

How Will P.A.G. Replace My Current Giving?

If you participate in the Pre-Authorized Giving plan, you will not need to use envelopes for your regular offertory donation or for your donations to the Restoration Fund. Because the P.A.G. does not include special collections such as ShareLife, or the Basilian Missions, etc., you will still need to pick up a box of envelopes to use for these occasions.

Who Looks After the Plan?

The Office of Development of the Archdiocese of Toronto administers P.A.G. plans for all participating parishes.  Please note that the St. Basil’s Parish Office will continue to issue tax receipts for all offertory gifts.

How Do I Enroll?

Decide the amount of your gift to St. Basil’s that is to be withdrawn from your account each month. You can also include contributions to the Restoration Fund. In order to maintain the same level of giving on a monthly basis, you will need to multiply your regular weekly amount by 4.33. The following table may be helpful in converting your regular weekly contribution into a monthly amount for P.A.G.

Fill out the form on the back page of this brochure and attach a cheque from your account marked “VOID”. Put the form and void cheque in a sealed envelope, and place it in the collection basket OR bring or mail it to the Parish Office.

You may stop PAG at any time by simply writing a letter to St. Basil’s Church with 30 days notice. If you would prefer to use a standardized cancellation form instead, you can obtain one from the Parish Office, your financial institution or visit: www.cdnpay.ca.

You have certain recourse rights if any debit does not comply with this agreement. For example, you have the right to receive reimbursement for any debit that is not consistent with this P.A.G. agreement. To obtain more information on your recourse rights, you may contact your financial institution or visit www.cdnpay.ca.

To guarantee security and confidentiality, please make certain that you place your enrollment form and VOID cheque in a sealed envelope and either place it in the collection basket OR bring or mail it to the St. Basil’s Parish Office.
